Mitra mitra - Episcopal Mitre

These snails feed on carrion, detritus, and also on polychaete worms.

The Large Mitre Snail is also said to be an active predator, preying on smaller snails and mussels.

They are found in the sea in the intertidal zone, often under corals, sand, or rocks. During the day, they are mostly buried in sandy substrate. The shells of Mitre snails are attractively patterned.
