Linckia sp. Red / Orange – Red-Orange Brittle Star
The Red-Orange Brittle Star (Linckia sp. Red / Orange) is a fascinating species of brittle star, known primarily for its intense red-orange coloration. This species belongs to the Linckia family and is mainly found in tropical coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific region.
Linckia brittle stars are known for their peaceful nature and their role as "cleaners" in the aquarium, as they consume detritus and organic material. This starfish requires a well-established reef aquarium with stable water conditions and sufficient food in the form of biofilm and fine organic material found on live rock. It is recommended to keep this species only in larger, well-established tanks.
The Linckia Orange is a specialist feeder, consuming algae growth on rocks and glass (green or brown types), algae, and organic detritus. Therefore, natural algae growth in the aquarium is essential to meet its dietary needs. With proper care and stable water parameters, this impressive starfish can thrive for up to 2 years in an aquarium.
To support its nutrition, it is advisable to supplement the Linckia Orange with pellet food, food tablets, or frozen food. This ensures that it receives adequate nutrition, even when natural food sources are limited.

is the constant maintenance of salinity, as well as the use of a good sea salt, such as the Fauna Marin Professional Sea Salt.
The salinity should always be between 34/35 per mille, respectively 1.022 and 1.024 density. Regular checking of the density is an absolute must in marine aquaristics.
