Product information "FMC Caulerpa brachypus - Kleine Kriechsprossalge"
Caulerpa brachypus – Small Creeping Algae
This type of Caulerpa algae can be highly invasive and quickly form large populations, making it ideal for the algae refugium.
Caulerpa are green algae belonging to the family Caulerpaceae. Their exceptional feature is that they consist of a single cell with numerous nuclei, making them among the largest individual cells in the world. A species found in the Mediterranean can develop a stolon (runner) of more than 3 meters with up to 200 fronds (leaves).
The name "Caulerpa" refers to the creeping habit of their stems and is derived from the ancient Greek "Kaul" ("stalk") and "Herpes" ("creeping").

Crucial for the care of corals and fish is the consistent maintenance of salinity and the use of high-quality sea salt, such as Fauna Marin Professional Sea Salt. Salinity should always be between 34/35 parts per thousand or 1.022 and 1.024 density. Regular density checks are a must in marine aquariums.
